Air Conditioning Regas & Servicing

Air Conditioning Regas - What is it?

Also known as a recharge, air conditioning regas is when all the oxygen and moisture is evacuated or removed from the system. Then for new refrigerant to be added, being a specifically measured out amount by weight, in order to keep your system as efficient as possible. To go along with this, lubricating oil is added to the system in order to keep all the metal parts that move around in working order.

What does an air conditioning service involve?

The air conditioning service involves specialist equipment and machines, at Telford Turbos more specifically Ecotechnics ECK Flag machines. Starting with extracting any refrigerant and lubricating oil from the system. The system is then put through a vacuum in order to detect if there are any leaks, that is both inefficient for your vehicle but also bad for the environment. Providing there are no leaks, the machine then begins to regas the air conditioning system with the specific amount that vehicle requires.

Why Should You Get an AC Regas?

Your vehicle needs regular maintenance as always. That is why we have MOT's to ensure every car on the road is safe to use and road legal. However MOTs don't cover vehicle functions that are purely for comfort. One of those things being your AC. Therefore it's easily forgotten about until the summer months and you wished you had that cooler air in the car while it is boiling outside.
