What is a Turbocharger?
A Turbocharger, generally known as a Turbo is a turbine driven, forced induction device that increases internal combustion engine's power output by forcing extra compressed air into the combustion chamber. This in turn is an effective way of increasing the power of your vehicle.
Turbos are made up of several delicate parts, which are integral to the turbo working, any contamination getting into the Turbo housing can effect the efficiency levels of your vehicle
Why did the last turbo fail
Oil Starvation
Oils starvation is when the oil can not sufficiently get to the mechanical components of the turbo causing the turbo to seize and damaged.
This can be a result of
- Blocked pipes, blocked gaskets, damaged pipes, irregular servicing
- Low oil levels, worn oil pump or lack of oil primer when the turbo is fitted
- Oil leaks from other mechanical failure of your vehicle
